Welcome to St. Lawrence County Online!
Adopted December 1, 2014
The Oswegatchie Blueway Trail seeks community input through online survey and round two of public open houses throughout the study area. The survey is found at: http://fluidsurveys.com/s/oswegatchie-blueway-trail-survey/ . In addition, three “open house style” workshops will be held in September showcasing the progress to date, and potential projects based on the feedback consultants peter j. smith and company have received. These open houses will take place throughout the 112-mile study area, this time in the communities of Ogdensburg, Canton and Star Lake. Specifically, they are:
Tuesday, September 22nd at 6 PM in Ogdensburg: Dobisky Visitor Center; and
Wednesday, September 23rd at 1 Pm in Star Lake
Wednesday, September 23rd 4PM – 6PM in Canton: TAUNY
Additionally, project coordinators are looking for photographs of the Oswegatchie and would be grateful to those willing to share photos or connections with other river enthusiasts who may have photos. One goal for the plan is to communicate the idea that the corridor is a year-round destination, so any photos of people enjoying leisure and recreation activities on the river and river corridor that portray the seasonality are greatly needed. Coordinators are unable to pay for photos, but will happily credit every picture so please provide that information. Photographs and questions may be sent to Andrea Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org or Eve Holberg at email@example.com.
St. Lawrence County has been awarded a Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) grant from the New York State Department of State to develop a Revitalization Plan for the Massena BOA Study Area, which encompasses the former GM site.
