Renewal House is certified as a safe home network provider and a safe-dwelling provider. Since 1982, Renewal House has been, and continues to be, committed to providing support and shelter to victims of domestic violence and their families, in an environment free from coercion, fear, judgment, or duress.  It is a client-centered service emphasizing self-help and the ability of individuals to take control of their own lives.  Their services include counseling on Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse.  Renewal House has grown from one part-time person to a staff of nine full-time and one part-time.  The number of individuals served has increased dramatically as well as the comprehensiveness of the service.  Victims of sexual abuse or domestic violence can contact The Renewal House 24 hours a day.

The St. Lawrence County Sex Offender Management Program is a proactive, county-wide sex offender management approach executed in best practices to educate the people of St. Lawrence County on safety and responsibility as it pertains to sex offenders. The program consists of a comprehensive set of services with representatives from organizations throughout the county on different committees. Organizations include: St. Lawrence County Probation Department, Community Services, St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, the courts, the local police departments, the sheriff's department, campus police, district attorney staff, public defender staff, Citizens Against Violent Acts, Inc., Renewal House for Victims of Family Violence, state police, SANE nurses, parole, clergy and the Department of Social Services.

This service allows crime victims to obtain timely and reliable information about criminal cases and the custody status of offenders 24 hours a day. Victims and other concerned citizens can also register to be notified by phone, email, text message (SMS) or TTY device when an offender's custody status changes. Users can also register through their participating state or county toll-free number.
