“OPERATION TEEN PROOF” TO TARGET UNDERAGE DRINKING

St. Lawrence County District Attorney and Heineken USA Partner to Curb Underage Drinking

St. Lawrence County, New York (April 2007) – District Attorney Nicole M. Duvé announced the launch of Operation Teen Proof as part of a continuing effort to curb the problem of underage drinking in St. Lawrence County.  Operation Teen Proof is designed to prevent anyone under 21 years of age from purchasing alcohol with fake or altered licenses.

Under the Operation Teen Proof program, the St. Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office delivered, free of charge, Security Laminate Verifiers supplied by Heineken USA, to every licensed alcohol establishment in St. Lawrence County.  By revealing the laminate security feature, these verifiers give proprietors the ability to identify the authenticity of any New York State Driver’s License issued after April 1997.
