Physically Handicapped Children's Program

Effective June 7, 2011, The Physically Handicapped Children’s Program (PHCP) will no longer be accepting any new referrals or applications.

Children who are currently receiving Orthodontic care under the PHCP will continue to be covered for PHCP Orthodontia Services through their retention year of treatment as long as they continue to meet the financial and medical eligibility guidelines for the program.

Children who are currently receiving coverage for Medical Conditions under the PHCP will continue to receive coverage through the end of their existing authorization period or any authorizations in the process as long as it is determined that they meet the financial and medical eligibility guidelines.

If you have any questions about the status of the Physically Handicapped Children’s Program, please contact the St. Lawrence County Public Health Department at 315-386-2325. Also, you may contact the department’s Children with Special Health Care Needs Program if you need assistance obtaining a health care provider, health care coverage or other resources and supports for your child with special health care needs.
