Brief Description of Medical Assistance:

Medical Assistance is a program to provide and care to eligible persons for Temporary Assistance, Medical Assistance, and Child Welfare whose income and resources meet the New York State eligibility levels.

The program provides for financial reimbursement of physicians, dentist, inpatient, outpatient, and clinic services, long term care services of nursing facilities, community-based home care services, prescription drugs, and rehabilitative services.

Appointments scheduled within five days of contact.  Walk-ins are Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 1 PM

Brief Description of Medical Services:

Medical Services provides assistance to clients through offering personal care and coordinates services to people in the community who are Medicaid eligible.  Authorizes home care as recommended by the attending physician.  Level is determined following a social assessment by the caseworker and nursing assessment by Public Health or Health Services of Northern New York.

Available services are:

  • Personal Care Aides
  • Home Health Aides
  • Household Chore Services

This program provides assistance to individuals and families with minimum or no health insurance coverage and to disabled and elderly individuals in need of home care to delay institutional care.
