St. Lawrence County Description SWCD is generally called in to help with NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and NYS Department of Health (DOH) complaints against landowners. SWCD reviews the problem and suggests ways to clean up the current problem and avoid future ones. As SWCD is not a regulatory agency, it can only make suggestions, not enforce policies created by other agencies. The District also works with the Army Corps of Engineers, the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT), the St. Lawrence County Health Department, and the St. Lawrence County Highway Department. |
