St. Lawrence County No-Till Grain Drill
An opportunity for funding to purchase a No-Till Grain Drill became available in 2009 from the Great Lakes Commission under the Great Lakes Basin Program for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control. Our grant application was approved making the purchase of a 7 foot Great Plains No-Till Grain Drill possible. Benefits of No-Till Seeding The SLC SWCD No-Till Operator's Manual This equipment has a grain or large seed box (oats, wheat, soybeans, peas, and orchard grass), a small seed box (alfalfa, trefoil, clover, timothy, canary grass) and a native grass box with agitator for fluffy seeds with chaff. The small size allows for ease in transportation, maneuverability, and the ability to pull with only a 45 horsepower tractor. The drill is available to landowners for use. An Interested Producer List has been developed. If you would like more information or to be added to our list, please contact the our office.
This project is partially funded through a grant provided by the Great Lakes Commission with funds from the United States Department of Agriculture.
