This annual program runs in the spring each year. There are various species of Evergreens, Hardwoods, and Wildlife Trees & Shrubs for sale. The trees are 1-2 year old bare-root seedlings that range, depending on the specie, from 4” to 36” tall. Also sold are wildflower seeds, tree protectors, and tree plantation signs.  All items are low cost and of good quality rated for hardiness in our area. Trees are generally sold from January until the middle of April with pick up being at the end of April.

SWCD helps promote this program by driving to the NYS DEC Saratoga Tree Nursery in Saratoga, NY and picking up the orders for St. Lawrence County. SWCD will pick up landowners orders and bring them back to St. Lawrence County for a small fee per bundle of trees. The landowners can then pick up their trees at the SWCD office in Canton instead of driving to Saratoga themselves or risking tree viability by having them shipped up.The

 SWCD offers a Spring Triploid Grass Carp program.  These carp are extremely good pond weed eaters.  A NYS DEC stocking permit is required for ordering these fish.

SWCD offers a fish stocking program every fall. Orders for Trout, Bass, Catfish, and Minnows are taken from August through September with pick up at the SWCD office in Canton in the beginning of October.
