NOTE - 2012 events will be published as soon as they are available.

Collections Events are sponsored by St. Lawrence County, the Development Authority of the North Country and the NYS DEC.
Acceptable Items
The following types of waste will be accepted at our collection events:

SOLVENTS: old gasoline, old kerosene, thinners, methyl-ethyl ketone, acetone, toluene, xylene, methylene, etc.

HOUSEHOLD BATTERIES: rechargeable, button/nickel-metal hydride/nickel-cadmium
-
PESTICIDES: solid, liquid and poisons

MISCELLANEOUS VEHICLE FLUIDS: (except recyclable, used motor oil)

FLUORESCENT LIGHTS: fluorescent light tubes, ballast and compact fluorescent lights (CFLs)
-
ADHESIVES EPOXY RESINS ANTIFREEZE

POLISHES & WAXES POOL CHEMICALS
-
DRIVEWAY SEALERS OIL-BASED PAINTS & STAINS
-
WOOD PRESERVATIVES HOUSEHOLD CLEANING PRODUCTS

Unacceptable Items 
The following types of waste will not be accepted at our collection events:

ELECTRONICS: microwave ovens, stereo systems, small appliances

LATEX PAINTS: latex paints can be dried out and disposed of in your regular trash. No visible liquid can be present.

WASTE OIL: unless contaminated with another fluid such as solvents

NON-RESIDENTIAL HAZARDOUS WASTE: such as from commercial or institutional waste generators

ASBESTOS MATERIALS CONTAINING PUB's (poly-chlorinated biphenyls)

SMOKE DETECTORS RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS

UNSORTED SOLID WASTE TIRES AUTOMOTIVE BATTERIES

INFECTIOUS WASTE CONSTRUCTION & DEMOLITION DEBRIS (C&D)

These items are now accepted year around at the County Transfer Stations. Please contact your local transfer station or the Solid Waste Office - (315) 379-9084 with any questions.
