2010 Medical Care Means Thresholds

This Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Directive provides the Means Test (MT) Thresholds, Medicare Deductible Rate, and Child Income Exclusion for calendar year 2010.  In addition, this Directive provides an Internet link to the United States (U.S.) Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) income limits for Fiscal Year (FY) 2009 for use by VHA in calendar year 2010.  NOTE:  The new means test, net worth, and Geographic-based Means Test (GMT) threshold rates are effective January 1, 2010.

Mental Health Resources

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), New York State Office of Mental Health (NYSOMH) and New York State Division of Veterans Affairs (NYSDVA) have collaborated to identify the broad range of mental health services that are available throughout New York State for veterans. This booklet is designed to raise awareness about mental health issues related to combat and to identify resources that are available to veterans, active duty soldiers, National Guard troops and reservists.

VA Best Practice Manual for PTSD Compensation and Pension Examinations

This document provides information on Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and current recommendations regarding what is known about “best practice” procedures for assessing PTSD among veteran populations. The VBA and Veterans Health Administration  (VHA) are committed to improving these services to veterans, and improving the quality of compensation and pension examinations for PTSD. Included in this manual are an assessment protocol based on best practices for assessing  PTSD, and disability examination worksheets which correlate with the protocol.
