Blair Patacairk
Blair Patacairk is the President of Telecom Gateway Services, an Ottawa-based business development, foreign direct investment and marketing consulting firm. As a consultant to OCRI Global Marketing, Blair is responsible for the attraction of investment, companies and people to the Ottawa region, the management of Ottawa’s global partnerships and the support of Ottawa’s technology clusters. He is also an advisor and the former VP of Business Development to Vayyoo Inc. a high-tech mobile solution start-up in Ottawa Canada.
Prior to consulting for OCRI, Blair was the Director of Communications/Public Affairs & Business Development for Dell Inc. in Ottawa. He also was responsible for all government relations in Canada. Prior to his role at Dell, he was one of two prime negotiators that brought Dell to Ottawa. He implemented a site wide Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities (MTCU) training certification program; built an internal Winning Culture committee that supported local charities through volunteerism/sponsorship, and was the Canadian public spokesperson on Dell’s brand and reputation.
As the former Director of Investment, Marketing, Media and Government Relations with the OCRI Global Marketing, Blair used his extensive business network of media contacts—both at home and abroad—and his experience as a marketing and communications specialist to promote Ottawa-based high technology companies to the world.
Blair has over eighteen years of experience in the public-private sectors, including working directly for the former Mayor of the City of Ottawa. He brings a wealth of knowledge on strategic partnerships and growing both SMEs and Fortune 500 companies. Most recently, Blair was one of Ottawa’s Top Forty under 40 recipients. This award recognizes business people under the age of 40 who balance bottom line results with a desire to participate in charitable and community activities.
Patacairk has a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science/sociology from Carleton University.
